Are you looking to add some complete chaos to your musical library? Belgum’s Verwilderd bring their brand of blackened death metal to assault your very existence. The release of their debut EP Homo Homini Lupus Est throws you straight into the pit with no messing around. The 5 track EP blends genres in a devastating opening offering.
I can tell you straight off that this is right square in my comfort zone. Of course in this case, that comfort zone is being chased through the woods by a hoard of rapid wolves. But comfort zone nonetheless. Combining the haunting, dissonant hopelessness of back metal, with the straight up pumping death metal riffing hits me right in the soul.
Reflecting how life at the moment is full of uncertainty, sorrow, pain, dejection, and chaos what more could you need in a release? 34 minutes of unadulterated adrenaline and havoc. Passing back and forth between Corpsegrinder style death metal vocals, and classic black metal ‘being strangled to death’ wails. Verwilderd have shown they have an abundance of talent with their debut release.
