Bodom After Midnight, the final musical outing by the late great Alexi Laiho, announce the release of Paint The Sky With Blood EP. It will be released on April 23rd 2021 via Napalm Records.
Bodom After Midnight comprise of ex Children of Bodom members Alexi Laiho (vocals/guitar) and Daniel Freyberg (guitar). With Waltteri Väyrynen (drums) and Mitja Toivonen (bass) completing the lineup. This EP release was meant to be the start of a series of releases for the band. Sadly this was curtailed by the tragic passing of Alexi in December 2020.
The band commented in a release:
“Like ourselves, Alexi was beyond stoked about these songs and anxious to get these out so we are happy that we can fulfill his wish.”
“Needless to say that we are honored and proud to be a part of his very last creative work and unleash it the way he wanted it to. It’s time to let the beast out of the cage one more time as a celebration of Alexi’s music, legacy and the man himself.”
Cover art is by renowned metal artist Travis Smith, who has designed album covers for Avenged Sevenfold, Opeth, Devin Townsend amongst others. Another brilliant cover, as displayed below.
